Media Post #1

In this article of Sunday's Patriots Game it describes how the game went, the score, and the players that played well and the players who played bad. The article was written well by laying out the information needed at the beginning of the article and then giving quotes of what the coaches said after the game. This article never got dry and pulled me in right from the beginning. After reading this article I have a better understanding of where the Patriots plan on going and how they are going to move on from the devestating loss Sunday against the Dolphins.

If you love to write, read a magazine, or have an interest in media, then you belong in Journalism. It's just like every other class. Don't be tardy, get your homework in on time, grading is fair and diligent. However in this class you not only get to do something you enjoy, you get to do it for the whole school. In Journalism you will write articles that may vary from sports to drama, to politics or advice. You will get experience in writing formal pieces that you feel very passionate about and sometimes pieces that you may not agree with. Also, it would look good on your transcript, and who doesn't like that!

The teacher of this class, Mr. McKay has written for the Sebasticook Weekly and Penobscott Valley papers. He went to the University of Maine for English and reads newspapers everyday. So if your looking for a class with some experience, come to Journalism. Mr. McKay feels that "reading is mandatory and essential to being a good writer." If reading and writing is something you enjoy doing, and you want to get better and "rise above the bar" then you need to take Journalism.
