Media and Literacy #3

Ken Peters, a writer for Yahoo Sports covered the Lakers vs. Spur game Monday night for the Spur big game opener. The Lakers won 117-79 where Bryant had 16 points and Bynum had 12 points. For me, just the title attracts my attention to the article because i'm a Lakers fan. However, if I was not a Lakers fan, or an unbiased reader this article starts off with who won and which players scored the most points so that is an attention grabber. People who don't like the Lakers could understand this article as biased just because it was reporting that the Lakers won. This article talks a lot about the Lakers, so if you were not a Lakers fan this article would not explain who the other team did or where they look like they are heading in the season. The whole point of view for this article is where the Lakers are going, who they have added for players this year and so on. So this article does not represent the team they played and what there season is predicted to look like. This message is being sent to make money, and display the information about Tuesday nights game, the stats, and when the next games are.
